Desert Safari Dubai: Everything You Need to Know Before You Book

A desert safari is the one experience almost every visitor to Dubai puts at the top of their list – and for good reason. Within 45 minutes of the city, the skyline gives way to rolling red dunes, camel farms and Bedouin-style camps. Evening, Morning or VIP – Which Desert Safari Is Right for You?

The evening desert safari is our most popular tour. Pickup starts around 3:00 PM, you drive into the dunes for 4×4 dune bashing, stop for sunset photos, then arrive at a desert camp for a camel ride, sandboarding, henna painting, live entertainment and a BBQ buffet dinner. You are back at your hotel at around 9:00 PM. It is the best choice for first-time visitors and families who want the full experience in one evening.

The morning desert safari (approx. 4 hours) is shorter and cooler. It covers dune bashing, a camel ride and a photo stop in the dunes before the midday heat, leaving the rest of your day free for a Dubai city tour or the beach. It is ideal if you are on a tight schedule or prefer to sleep early.

Our VIP and VIP Plus safaris upgrade the evening experience with premium seating, better food service and a less crowded setting. If you are travelling as a family or a group, a private desert safari gives you your own 4×4 and driver, so you can set the pace, stay longer at sunset and enjoy the camp without strangers in the car.

All evening packages include hotel pickup and drop-off in Dubai, dune bashing, the camp activities and dinner. Prices change slightly in peak season and on public holidays, so always message us on WhatsApp for today’s best direct rate – there are no booking fees when you book with us directly.

Best Time to Go on a Desert Safari

Desert safaris run all year, but the most comfortable months are October to April, when evening temperatures in the desert drop to a pleasant 20–28°C. In summer (June–August) we recommend the evening safari, because the hardest heat has passed by the time you reach the dunes, and the camp is set up for comfort. Sunset is the highlight of every evening tour – the dunes glow orange and red for about 20 minutes, so keep your camera ready.

What to Wear and Bring

Is Dune Bashing Safe?

Yes. Our drivers are experienced and licensed for desert driving, and every vehicle is a well-maintained 4×4 with seat belts. Dune bashing is exciting, but it is not recommended for pregnant women, people with back or heart problems, or infants. If anyone in your group prefers a gentle ride, just tell your driver – or choose the camp-only option and skip the bumps.
